New England equaled their longest winning run from the Tom Brady era as they defeated AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three scores as the New England squad notched an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in 2019

QB Maye threw for 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 of 34 passes

Victory bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they improved to nine victories against two losses, with the New York at the foot after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had scored first at Gillette Stadium with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard TD to cap the Jets' initial series

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the back of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."

Fields found John Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales booted a two field goals in the final period as the home side sealed the victory
